Early detection of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers is essential to effective treatment.
Our doctors at the UPMC Center for Gastrointestinal Cancer Prevention and Treatment have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating cancers and pre-malignant conditions of the:
- Esophagus, including high- or low-grade dysplasia — an abnormal tissue enlargement of the esophagus
- Stomach, including metaplasia — abnormal tissue changes of the stomach
- Liver
- Pancreas
- Colon and rectum, including colon polyps — a growth on the lining of the colon or rectum
- Gallbladder
After diagnosis, we work closely with medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists from the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center to provide coordinated GI cancer care for all patients.
