LEWISBURG, Pa. – UPMC Spine Care, a new service for the region, has opened at UPMC Specialty Care, 2330 Saint Mary St. W., Lewisburg. UPMC Spine Care in Lewisburg is a single access point connecting individuals experiencing back and neck pain with UPMC’s spine experts who specialize in the management and treatment, both surgical and non-surgical, of a wide array of spinal disorders.
“The UPMC Spine Care clinic is a new model for our region designed to support patients in navigating the complexities of the health care system,” said Patti Jackson-Gehris, president, UPMC in North Central Pa. “There are many causes of neck and back pain, so diagnosis and treatment require a multi-disciplinary approach. This can be a challenging care journey for individuals to navigate as they progress from specialist to specialist. By implementing one phone number and one centralized team with integrated nurse navigators, all at one location, we’re improving the patient experience while ensuring ease of access to life-changing care.”
Services at UPMC Spine Care in Lewisburg include testing and diagnostics with on-site imaging. Providers evaluate individuals, establish a care plan, and provide direct referrals to specialists in non-surgical treatment at UPMC Pain Management or UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, or to a surgeon with UPMC Orthopaedic Care or UPMC Neurological Institute.
