UPMC Welcomes New Medical Officer to Region

Robert Strony, DOWILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – UPMC recently appointed Robert Strony, D.O., as the new senior medical quality officer for UPMC’s medical group practices in north central Pennsylvania.

Dr. Strony received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training in emergency medicine with Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa. He is board-certified by and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. In addition to his clinical training and education, Dr. Strony also obtained his Physician Executive MBA with University of Scranton, Scranton, Pa.

In his new role, Dr. Strony collaborates with leadership and medical staff to support activities, processes, and policies resulting in high quality patient care driven by system-wide clinical practices and standards. In addition to his role as senior medical quality officer, Dr. Strony will also continue his practice as an emergency medicine physician.

Dr. Strony comes to UPMC with over 15 years of experience in acute care and emergency medicine. Prior to joining UPMC, Dr. Strony most recently held a clinical leadership role with Geisinger Health Plan as well as worked as an emergency services physician with Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pa.
