Dr. Kreutzer is an internationally renowned authority in congenital cardiac catheterization and has served as a principal investigator on several landmark clinical trials. Her academic interests include novel catheter and device technology, single ventricle physiology and interventional therapies, transcatheter management of peripheral pulmonary artery stenosis, and transcatheter valve therapies. She also is interested in research on cardiac catheterization outcomes and quality improvement.
Dr. Kreutzer earned her medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina, followed by training in pediatrics at the University of Florida. She went on to train in pediatric cardiology at Boston Children’s, then served as an instructor in pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She joined Pitt in 2005 and was appointed division chief and co-director of the UPMC Children's Heart Institute in 2017.
Dr. Kreutzer has authored over 100 publications and has a long history of commitment to teaching and mentoring students, residents, fellows and colleagues from the United States and abroad. Dr. Kreutzer holds several editorial positions within major journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
