Bret H.Goodpaster, PhD

​Dr. Goodpaster received his BS from Purdue University in 1988, his MS from Kent State University in 1991, and then went on to receive his PhD from Ball State University in 1995. He served as first a pre-doctoral fellow for Maastricht University, the Netherlands in 1992, and then as a post-doctoral fellow for the University of Pittsburgh in 1998.

Dr. Goodpaster’s primary research interests are exercise, skeletal muscle metabolism in obesity, Type 2 diabetes and aging, and the association between muscle composition and its function in aging.
