Sponsorship Guidelines

Purpose

UPMC in central Pa. proudly serves central Pennsylvania and provides exceptional health care close to where you live and work. We are focused on providing patient-focused care that benefits our patients and the community. As a comprehensive health care system committed to serving the community in which we live, UPMC in central Pa. gives careful consideration to requests for financial support, as they relate to our mission, vision and values. It is the policy of UPMC in central Pa. to grant sponsorships and make contributions to organizations that further our mission to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve.

Funding Criteria

Support will be considered for proposals that meet the following criteria. Events and sponsorships must:

1. Benefit the geographic area served by UPMC in central Pa.
2. Address one or more of the following community health priorities including, but not limited to:
• Cardiovascular Disease
• Cancer
• Women and Children’s Health
• Ortho/Spine Disorders
• Diabetes
• Underserved Populations
• Community Wellness
3. Demonstrate collaboration and coordination with other community organizations or UPMC in central Pa. services.
4. Meet the marketing needs of UPMC in central Pa.
• UPMC in central Pa. must receive recognition of sponsorship through the approved use of our logo in advertisements and other materials such as t-shirts, banners, etc.
5. Is consistent with the UPMC mission, vision, and values:
• Mission: UPMC is a charitable organization dedicated to serving our communities by providing outstanding patient care and shape tomorrow’s health system through clinical and technological innovation, research, and education.
• Vision: UPMC will lead the transformation of health care.
• Values: Quality and Safety, Dignity and Respect, Caring and Listening, Responsibility and Integrity and Excellence and Innovation.

Funding Limitations

As a health care organization, we evaluate requests for organizations that show the greatest potential for positively affecting the health of the community we serve. As a result of the high volume of requests we receive and the limited funds available for charitable purposes, we are unable to support requests for personal assistance due to financial distress.
