Types of Head and Neck Tumors We Treat

Doctors in the UPMC Division of Head and Neck Cancer can treat any tumor located between the head and neck. It's vital to have tumors tested to determine if they are malignant (cancerous) or benign (noncancerous).

The following are examples of common malignant and benign tumors we treat:

  • Salivary tumors
  • Parathyroid tumors
  • Thyroid tumors
  • Parotid and submandibular gland tumors
  • Minor salivary gland tumors
  • Skin cancer
  • Squamous cell cancer (larynx and tongue)

The UPMC Head and Neck Survivorship Clinic helps people address the physical, social, and emotional issues they face during and after treatment. It's a joint effort between the UPMC Department of Otolaryngology and the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.
