Dr. Carty’s research and expertise focus on minimally invasive techniques for parathyroid and thyroid surgery, in the use of molecular markers of malignancy in endocrine tumors, and in the care of patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndromes.
Dr. Carty received her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University and completed her residency in general surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She performed postgraduate work as a surgical oncology fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
She is member of several professional organizations including the American Surgical Association, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American Thyroid Association.
