A Message from Our President

At UPMC Mercy, we take great pride in our ability to provide compassionate, faith-based health care rooted in the Catholic tradition in the spirit of our founders, the Sisters of Mercy.

While the health care needs of our community are far different from what they were in 1847 when Mercy first opened its doors, what hasn’t changed is our commitment to caring for all.

We are fortunate to be part of UPMC — a nationally ranked health care system focused on offering outstanding, life-changing medicine that embraces innovation and the latest technologies, delivered with a special focus on providing an excellent overall experience for our patients.

We are proud to offer the region’s only Level I trauma and burn service under one roof; to be designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center; to be home to the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute; and to look ahead to how the UPMC Vision and Rehabilitation Tower will change not only the skyline, but the health care landscape.

Our physicians, nurses, and therapists at the bedside — and our support staff and administration behind the scenes — are all committed to treating those entrusted in our care with dignity and respect and compassion. It is the Mercy way. And it is our promise to you and the loved ones you entrust to our care.

Thank you for choosing UPMC Mercy for your health care needs.

Sincerely,

John Innocenti
President, UPMC Mercy
